WHAT IS ESTATE PLANNING?

Estate planning is the process whereby you identify and implement your goals regarding your property, health care treatment, and benefiting your family members.  These goals typically include the desire to:

bullet"Protect my property during my lifetime if I become incapacitated."

bullet"Have my wishes and preferences regarding health care treatment, especially at the end of life, respected by my doctors and family members."

bullet"Ensure that at death my intentions are carried out in terms of who should receive my property."

bullet"Minimize the expense of settling my affairs after death."

bullet"Avoid death taxes as much as possible."
